A Brief History
The Roots of The Saturday Morning Market
Established in November 2002 by our passionate founders – Judy Staunko, Theresa Ellis, Celeste Simon, Heidi Lovett, Rand, Dennis D’Ettore, and Gail Eggeman, the market has been running every Saturday from October to May, 9 am to 2 pm.
What You'll Find At The Market
Local Organic Farms
We have local farmers with organic and sustainably raised fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats. At our Market, we are proud to have the Wordens among our esteemed farmers. They have received the prestigious Florida Innovative Farmer Award and have been acknowledged as Organic Farmer Experts by both the Organic Trade Association and the United States Department of Agriculture.

Come Hungry Leave Happy
In terms of “ready-to-eat” food options, the Saturday Morning Market stands out as a unique destination. We offer a more extensive selection of styles than any other market in the US. For example, we feature a range of cuisine types, including Greek, Italian, French, Belgian, German, Polish, British, Cuban, Mexican, Ecuadoran, Colombian, Thai, Ethiopian, Cajun, Vegetarian, and more. Whatever your taste preferences may be, you are sure to find something delicious at our Market.
Diverse Artisan Foods
We have a great variety of artisan food vendors, all of whom are local makers. When you support them, you’re not contributing to their private jet, but rather ensuring that their kids can play sports and take dance lessons. Our vendors offer an assortment of handmade and locally produced goods such as fresh seafood, baked goods, pastries, jams, chocolates, cheeses, salsas, chutneys, sauces, imported truffles, pickles, popsicles, spices, jerky, and more.

Vibrant Live Music
We have live music every Saturday during the winter season. Check out our upcoming events calendar.
Non-Profit Love
We offer free booths to local and national not-for-profits to educate the community.
Health & Sustainability
The Saturday Morning Market is committed to promoting healthy eating and positive environmental practices in a range of ways. One of the primary means through which we advance this goal is by supporting SNAP with high-quality food and produce, creating a range of benefits for our customers. In addition, we also provide a ‘double dollars’ service through a charitable grant.
Another way in which we advance healthy eating practices is by offering a food demonstration cart that local chefs can use to showcase healthy recipes featuring Market produce grown right here near St. Petersburg, FL. By providing these resources and support systems, we aim to encourage healthy habits and environmental stewardship within our community.
Planet +
We are dedicated to fostering a culture of healthy eating and positive environmental practices through various initiatives and activities.
Food Assistance
The Saturday Morning Market supports SNAP by providing quality food and produce with these benefits. Through a charitable grant we provide a ‘double dollars’ service.
Chefs In the House
In addition, we offer a convenient food demonstration cart that allows local chefs to showcase delicious and nutritious recipes crafted with fresh Market produce.
