Dogs are more than welcome to visit the market. Please make sure to review these guidelines first to make sure we maintain a peaceful and safe environment for all.

At the Saturday Morning Market in St. Petersburg, you’ll encounter a diverse range of well-behaved dogs, from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes, all happily soaking up the sights, smells, and sounds of this bustling market.

Saturday Morning Market Dogs on a Leash

Keep 'em leashed. Stay in control.

  • Do not bring your dog on an extendable leash! Please keep your dog on a short (less than 4 feet) leash. Dogs and leashes can easily become a hazard for pedestrians in a congested area.
  • Restrain your dog around vendor tables, particularly food vendors. Dogs should not be allowed to approach or sniff food on tables.

Ask before petting a dog.

  • Always ask the other dog owner before allowing your dog to approach their dog.
  • Be aware that even friendly dogs (particularly large ones) can be intimidating to some people. So be considerate of people who may not be comfortable being in close proximity to your pet.
  • If you observe any problem with a dog, please report it to a staff member at the Market booth.

Dogs that are not able to observe these guidelines will not be welcome to attend the Market.

Be aware of your pet.

  • Please immediately withdraw your dog from a situation that prompts barking or aggressive behavior. Barking can cause significant stress for bystanders.
  • If you know that your dog isn’t consistently friendly around strangers, please don’t bring it to market.
  • Please ‘curb’ your dog in an appropriate location, and promptly clean up any mess that may be made in the street.

Services For Your Dog

  • We provide a water bowl for dogs near the Market booth.
  • ‘Accident’ cleanup materials are also available at the Market booth.

Do The Right Thing

You know your dog better than anyone. If you know they aren’t good with kids the Saturday Morning Market might not be a good fit for your pet.

Clean Up

ALWAYS clean up after your dog. If they have an accident and you’re unprepared, visit the SMM booth for clean-up items. 

Ask First

If you or your children want to pet that adorable pug, make sure to ask before you pet their dog, you never know how they might react if startled.
